Chatham Hills subdivision is located in Farmington, Michigan. With over 270 homes set in about 40 acres of parks and common areas, this subdivision offers affordable, family friendly housing. The common areas are maintained in a mix of park and natural conditions surrounding portions of Tarabusi Creek. Play areas for children abound and more than 2 miles of paved pathways are available for those interested in an idyllic stroll. The subdivision is conveniently located close to major shopping areas, restaurants and is located close to major expressways including I-275, I-96, I-696 and M-5.
We decided not to hold the Easter Egg Hunt this Spring. We may replace it with another event in the calendar year. The conditions in the park will be so wet, and the construction work in the common area should be beginning soon, presenting too many challenges for a successful event.
Safety Alert :
From Farmington Public Schools
Important Information for parents: On March 28, 2014, at about 7:15 a.m., a high school age female was walking in the Chatham Hills Apartment complex (located on Grand River between Drake Road and Halsted Road) to the school bus stop located within the apartment complex. She was approached by a male that is described as being an African American, mid to late 30’s with facial hair.
The male exited a parked vehicle and tried to start a conversation with the female, asking her to come with him. The female refused and continued walking to the bus stop. The suspect was last seen driving a newer sports car, possible a dark gray 2012 Dodge Challenger R/T.
The District is working closely with the Farmington Public Safety Department who will continue to investigate this incident.
Please take a moment to talk with your children about Stranger Danger and remind them to immediately report any suspicious incidents to an adult.
The Cadell Drain Project
The Cadell Drain is the creek that runs through the beautiful common areas in Chatham Hills Subdivision. A construction company has been awarded the project to improve the structure, water flow, ecology and appearance of the Cadell Drain. The work will begin the first week of March, weather permitting, and should be completed within 4-6 weeks. We expect the scope of work to include the common areas west and east of the Brittany Hill bridge, continue through to the east common area, and end north of the large pond. The Brittany Hill bus stop might be temporarily moved, so if you are affected, please watch for a potential change. Also, foot bridges will be affected at different points, so please be aware as you use the paths.
